Bill is a founder of the Williamsburg Bird Club and
the founder of the Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory. He is
a past president of the Virginia Society of Ornithology and has
been the Director of the Virginia Barrier Islands Colonial Waterbirds
Survey for the Virginia Coast Reserve of The Nature Conservancy
since 1975. He has been the Director of the Kiptopeke Hawk Watch
since 1977. Bill is a founding member and former President of the
Williamsburg Land Conservancy, and currently is on that organization's
Board of Directors.
