The Mitchell A. Byrd Chair in Conservation Biology will be a permanent, full-time faculty position within the College of William and Mary. This position is strategically important to the continued success and expansion of the Center for Conservation Biology and Dr. Byrd’s legacy. This position will allow the Center to provide more opportunities to William and Mary students for research and education within the conservation sciences.

The campaign to establish the Byrd Chair was initiated with a generous lead gift of 250,000 dollars. However, to fully endow the position will require 2 million dollars. Once established, the position will be eligible for matching funds under Virginia’s Eminent Scholars Program. Please help to establish this important faculty position.
