Bald Eagle Nest Video Monitoring
  Introduction   Photo Gallery

Welcome! This website is part of a research study focused on the ecology of nesting Bald Eagles in Virginia. The objective of this project is to use video-monitoring systems to obtain close-range data of nest activities. Biologists from the Center for Conservation Biology select eagle pairs to study, band and measure the chicks, and install small security cameras directly above the nests.

  Community
The Center for Conservation Biology is developing opportunities for citizens to get involved in ongoing conservation studies around Virginia. This project, like several others, relies upon local volunteers and land
owners to contribute their time and energy. MORE INFORMATION >>

Background
The Center for Conservation Biology has been the lead conservation organization working toward the restoration and management of the Bald Eagle in Virginia. Working with government agencies and a host of other groups, Center staff have monitored the Virginia population for over 25 years. Over this time, the Center has conducted dozens of reasearch projects focused on the development of better management techniques for this species and its habitats. MORE INFORMATION >>

The Center for Conservation Biology produces three types of publications: technical reports, educational brochures, and academic papers. Included in this section are select Center publications regarding bald eagles. MORE INFORMATION >>
