Students
: Graduate Opportunities
Graduate students are encouraged to become involved
with the conservation of natural resources either through
the Center for Conservation Biology or some other organization.
The Center for Conservation Biology currently offers four
different types of opportunities for undergraduates.
Participating in
Ongoing Field Research
The Center for Conservation Biology typically conducts 15-25
field projects per year. Projects deal with a diversity of
species and questions and employ a diversity of field techniques.
Many of these projects are appropriate for student involvement.
Graduate students have been involved with many field projects
over the years and have made significant contributions toward
conservation solutions.
Masters Thesis Research
Many graduate students have worked within the Center for Conservation
Biology and conducted research dealing with a broad range
of pressing conservation issues and topics in avian ecology.
Students that have been admitted to the graduate program are
eligible to conduct thesis research within the Center. Agreements
must be arranged with faculty within the Center and depend
on the proposed research topic and the time commitments of
supervising faculty.
