Bird Migration : Golden Eagle : 74419 Tracking

74419 caught in Harford Co, MD

Our eagle trapping team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD observed this third-year female coming to the bait site for a few days before we were able to trap her. Like the other two goldens, this bird ruled the carcass and didn’t let the bald eagles anywhere near the food. After release, we tracked her spring migration north 2,500 km to a relatively unpopulated region on the Ungava Bay and Labrador Sea straddling Quebec and Labrador.
